God, I love democracy.

At this defining moment, change has come to America.”

- President-Elect Barack Obama, November 4, 2008

I’m not a weepy person, but as Senator Obama took the stage with his family to make his acceptance speech, I completely lost it with big weepy snotty tears. I went in to look at my sleeping child, who will one day hear about this night and what it means to this great country, and said a little prayer of thanks.

I'm so right there with you!! Hooray for Elsa, for Jazmyne, for Kyle, for Elliott, for Astrid Meklit, for everyone.

I actually pooped out before it became final, so missed the live announcement, but it was a great thing to wake up and hear on the radio on the way to the dog park at 7 am!!

I too, wept as I watched, especially when I saw the young faces of black Americans all over the country reflect what a momentous evening it was. I am so very grateful to have lived long enough to see this day.
