I’m definitely getting excited about Austin now, although in many ways it still seems kind of unreal. I sent out a big email to friends and family offering wild “Kate can’t stand to pack any more and she wants paintings on walls not in storage” discounts on paintings (I figure one spam email every 2 years is ok) and have sold 3 so far, with people seriously considering 6 more.
Latest thing that sounds great about Austin: every morning, someone from Taco Deli comes by the office there to sell the (hugely delicious) breakfast tacos for just $2 each. Heaven, I’m in heaven…
Susan is all set to fly out and drive with me to Texas! What a pal. We are going to hit Palm Springs on the first night and stay with the stellar stepmom, Jan. The next day we are going to do a LONG haul across Arizona and New Mexico, hopefully spending that night in El Paso. Third day, El Paso to Austin! Then a Saturday of just hanging out in Austin before Susan has to jet back to Boston. Whew.
